I've lurked here a bit and thought I might introduce myself with some photos of mine. For those who haven't been inside the Opsal Steel Building, here's what she looks like. The place will be coming down sometime in the next couple of months. Now or never. http://www.flickr....72157604274446533/ Here's a link to a video about the Opsal. On it, the history is sketched out and the architects talk about the future of the site. Those plans still seem valid even though the video is at least a couple of years old - I talked with some crew guys working in there recently and they described the same deconstruct/reconstruct/extra-density-condo-tower that is discussed in the video. http://www.city.va.../04-OpsalSteel.wmv And here's my larger Decay and Abandonment set, with all the Opsal photos as well as ones of Ravens Park (abandoned asylum in western Scotland - just a few of those, unfortunately) Hasard Cheratte (abandoned coke mine near Liege, Belgium), La Chartreuse (abandoned military complex in Liege), and an abandoned military hospital in the middle of Antwerp. And yeah, it is a pretty sweet location. Pretty rare these days in our corner of the woods, and about to become even rarer. On 1st and a block or so west? I'd love to get in there, but it is behind heavy security due to the whole athlete's village construction.
