I like the way the #2 fits together. Great use of the gels, not to much and in a great position for a composition standpoint.

Thank you all kindly! You comments have given me a better idea of how to approach light painting. I think the key with colors is accent, not control the shot....

This may be a dumb question but with light painting what techniques did you use to get the colored light? just a colored flashlight or did you put some kind of filter over a light to produce color?

filters.

Often times people will use an external flash unit or gun instead of flashlights. I believe this technique is called strobing.
