Yeah. And if you cause the elevator to be stuck and get yourself trapped (some idiot did that during my shift once and got stuck), be prepared to have the elevator mechanic and anyone else releasing you have a good laugh. 
And Monster's advice is the best I've heard here as well.

When loading thousands of pounds into a freight elevator, be sure to place the load in the middle of the elevator....
Learned this one the hard way when we packed two scissor lifts to the side... Three hours later the union stewarded was able to sign out the hands..

| | | | Another tip: when in a hospital, use the janitor's elevators. That way you don't get stuck in those giant elevators with sick people on stretchers who are dying. Icky. Or worse yet, dead people.
