The place looks great and the elevated railroad track in the first picture quite interesting. Wouldn't want to stand below the carriages...

Anyway, welcome to the site - that's a pretty damn good start!

Great pics. Apparently I gotta figure out how to get to Russia.

We should get a group together... a BIG group.

The problem with "accessible" locations in Russia is that they have usually been stripped bare of anything even remotely interesting. Of course, if you travel far from any cities, you can find great locations, but the ones near people are just empty concrete shells.

I think, the same problem is all over the world. If there will not be guards, the place will be destroyed.

In a smaller scale, yes, but I still think the problem is worse in Russia and other former Soviet countries where social security is nonexistent or not enough to cover basic living. Even though I've noticed that during the past year or so copper has disappeared from several locations around here too, the phenomenon of "salvaging" from abandonments owned by others is relatively new and I'm pretty sure the thieves are "professionals" from Estonia or Russia. However, in Russia it has probably been going on since the fall of the Soviet Union when most of the now-abandoned factories were closed.

I remember reading in Gulag Archipelago that criminals (actual or political) would be sentenced to the Vorkuta limeworks as a form of slow execution. Wonder if any of that went on at this one?
