Uhh... private/public glitch

At the top of every forum I see a new thumbtacked thread called "Current Members" by HauntedPA. Clicking it gives me the usual "this is part of a private forum of which you are not a member" message.

So there I was, in this creepy old hallway...

It's sort of an accidental mixing of private forum and public forum. I'm pretty sure I know exactly why that is there, and I PM'd the details to Av-x to correct and possibly change part of the coding of the forum software to prevent that from being possible in the future.

This problem was fixed. I'm not sure how it happened myself, but never the less it's gone now. So no worries on that one. Hopefully Av will have a solution to what caused it to begin with.

Thanks to the help of Shane the cause of this problem was that I had clicked on "announce" instead of "pin". Weird, but now that there's a better understanding of the functions of each it shouldn't happen again.

Still why it was posted site wide is still a mystery.

announcement is the same as a pin, but it posts it pinned to every forum section on the site. I think av should code it so that private forum admins don't see the announce button or something. There's no need to announce when the PF owner only has control of one section and it's private anyways.
