A person is guilty of criminal trespass if knowingly his entry or presence is unlawful, he enters or remains on property as to which notice against entering is given by personal communication to the actor by the owner or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner; or notice is given by posting of signs reasonably likely to come to the attention of intruders. A violation is an infraction. 76-6-206 (2)(b)(3)(b).

Is there a similar list for international locations? I'll likely be heading to Europe soon (and maybe Japan) and wouldn't mind knowing what I'm up against.

Personally, I would go to the local precinct just to make sure.

Please don't UE in other counties. That joke aside, as who wouldn't...have the US embassy number on you for that country. Make sure it works. You might need it when you get arrested.

Also realize that many of your rights are automatically taken away in many countries in Europe. So even getting to call the embassy might not be an option.

And if you're around any drugs or the place happens to have bad stuff going on, esp. in Japan, you can be lumped into it. Japan is one place you DON'T want to get in trouble in.

If you're really interested and want to make absolutely sure, the embassy is the easiest way to figure it out or ask. Pretend your cousin has been arrested (lol!) I just tried to google answers for Japan and could find nothing definitive. Hopefully someone else can?

Also I just found this for California...seems to me that they're pretty lenient? "In California for example, your mere presence on land which is open to the public is not illegal -- you must also have "the intention of interfering, obstructing or injuring" people or business activity to be illegally trespassing (CA penal code 602j). If you're on land not open to the public (other than a dwelling), it's not illegal unless you refuse or fail to leave "when requested to do so" (CA penal code 602n). You can only be arrested by the police after they've received a signed "Trespass Arrest Authorization letter.""

Is anyone aware of trespassing laws for Saskatchewan? I've found the Criminal Code entries on B&E, and I've found reference to trespass in other Saskatchewan laws, but I haven't actually found any law that defines trespassing and it's potential consequences.

I've found a few suggestions that there are not trespassing laws here at all, but that almost sounds too good to be true, and I'd rather not take that for granted without checking.

FYI: Probably not here. Probably elsewhere. Probably not supposed to be there.
