My dad might be going and I might get to tag along to Vietnam.

Apart from the obvious chu chi tunnels, what is there to see there? I did a search of the forum but there's not much listed here.

Caution! This user is a wise ass and may use sarcasm.

Is my back pack good enough for UERing?

I've never been there, but all the sites that I've seen posted on here seemed to be tourist places. Same with the tunnels. They want you to go so it won't be hard to find. But seriously do not explore on your own. I'm sure the country is still riddled with boobytraps and there might not be English warnings around for you.

Yeah, my dad's going for mine clearance. He's warned me to throw rocks anywhere I plan to walk that's off the beaten track. If the beaten track blows up I'm not allowed to walk there.

I didn't see any abandonments worth of mentioning when I visited Vietnam couple of years ago. The various war museums were pretty nice, though.

Some of my pictures can be seen here. Click the link "Seuraava >>" to move to the next page.

Chu-Chi is fun, make sure you take cash for the rane, go fire some machineguns.
I'd be wary, given the standard of living you'll probably find people in anything that catches your eye.

If you enjoy seafood, expect to find cheap and fresh huge shrimps, lobsters, crabs etc.
