I recall seeing a lot of on-site pics of Hartsville Nuclear many years ago (not UE-related).. I recall that there isn't really anything there other than a cooling tower or two and that TVA was using the site for storage.. You're probably better off checking out Gaffney, SC or Marble Hill in Indiana.. unless you just want to look up the tower..

http://en.wikipedi...uclear_Power_Plant

somebody needs to put up some pics of this place.. It might not be around in a few years.

Hartsville would have been an impressive place had they built it.. I think it was envisioned as the biggest nuke plant in the states (or maybe the world) with 6 or 8 reactors. Right now no site in the US has more than 3 operating reactors.. but there are are couple plants in Canada with 8 units (6 operating), but each has about half the power of what Hartsville was going to have.

Bellefonte has 2 units and is something like 90% complete and just sitting there, $6 billion was spent on it and it's only used for parts for other plants these days, basically abandoned for almost 20 years.. but they started building a new reactor at the site a couple months ago. It was too bad they didn't just walk away from it, as that would probably be everybody's UE-mecca ..I'm so selfish sometimes.

Wow man that's insane. Too bad they didn't get further along with it before the abandoned it. Thanks for the info, and yeah I defiantly plan on hitting up Marble Hill. I'm still interested in Hartsville. Maybe I will get to go there soon.

u25680 - I do believe that you are mistaken. The one that The Abyss was shot at is in South Carolina, this one is around Nashville, TN. Don't worry man, you're not the only one who has been confused by this.

This place is surrounded by signs that read "Trespassers Will Be Shot On Sight". They might be bluffing, but I don't have the yarbles to find out.

dang man. sounds like they are not playing. The only thing I found archived here on this site was pretty much someone was saying that the Air Force might be using it for some kind of testing:

http://www.uer.ca/...=search&currpage=1

Might just be a conspiracy theory though. Was it pretty much the stack that was there or is it a facility with several buildings?

There are several buildings. I read that some were used by the public to create jobs or some shit.

Even if the Air Force deal was true, it was back in `01.

The place is fuckin' creepy. We didn't get on to the actual property, there were cars and cameras and such. However, I saw more deer today that I ever have before.

Thanks for the pictures. The place looks pretty cool, but it doesn't strike me as a place that would be easily accessible, and it doesn't look like there is a lot there anyway
