Fort Worth is pretty awesome, so I'm sure something will come to mind. Do you think we would still want to meet up at the place by TCU? Or would we maybe want to go somewhere downtown (several pizza joints), or the Stockyards (not as much exploring as there used to be), or maybe along 7th Street and the Cultural District (Will Rogers Center, and the Botanic Gardens, both great for pictures).

I know! from other pictures I have seen that place looks freaking awesome. I was more than a little bummed to hear the news.

Don't get y'alls panties in a wad... getting permission for a bunch of uncertified, unauthorized folks whose primary modus operandi involves judicious (and/or blatant) disregard for "No Trespassing" signs was a longshot bet to begin with.

My apologies to the new folks if I've given the impression that DFW meetups are well-organized events with party favors, field trips, and cake. The last one was indeed awesome, but usually things are a bit more fluid. Any "field trips" tend to be planned based on someone saying, "hey, you wanna go to (nearby place) and someone else going "Sure, dude, let me get my waders!"

So don't look at the lack of an authorized expedition as the loss of an opportunity to explore... look at it as gaining a chance to spin the Wheel Of Infiltration. Where it stops, nobody knows!

It does suck, but the guywho owns the place is just using it for storage, and decided they were uncomfortable with a large group (especially one that could include the UE dwarves).

Pete has a couple of other ideas, I'll quiz him on it when he returns.

I looked up the old mental hospital I used to work at...I heard it had been closed. it's now some kind of Christian high school or something.

Although it's a cool location, it's not *that* great. There are WAAAAAY cooler things to explore legalish.

Don't worry... the dwarfs won't be included in something of that nature.

Well...

Like Robert said, it's usually something we come up with over an awesome burger and fries or something. And I'm not sure 'permission' has ever been involved.

Not to say I'd ever agree to going in some place without permission, ya knoW? *wink*

They might be watching us.

cool....I tell you what...we need to meet at freds texas. If ever there was a UE type hamburger joint this is it.

best quail egg free burgers in fort worth....

I used to go there even BEFORE it was on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. Martin sheen shows up some times, and occasionally the place burns down. Oh, and they have a big outside area back in the "Fort" you see Guy walk past in the video.

I starting to understand that the whole city is full of stuff to explore. Cant get in one spot? walk about a block or two and you will find a different one!
