| | | It would definitely throw him for a loop. I think it would be better to say you were chasing some taggers from a near by property. Hell... just ask. Rent-a-Cop 2 Rent-a-cop(no insult intended) let a fellow under paid guy have a look around. It could work.
The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us? |

-One question you should ponder before doing this - what if it doesn't work? What will your employer do if he gets to hear that you've used the uniform he issued you to misrepresent yourself at another site? I agree that in all likelihood, it is gonna work just fine - people really want to believe that everything is OK, and if you show up in a uniform claiming to have chased some taggers or whathaveyou, you should be off fine. Still - is it worth risking your job?

| | | It can work, but if it backfires you can be in a world of problems. Impersonating an authority figure doesn't go well. Of course you'd also face disciplinary action from your employer. Time to balance the prize-effort scale.

How would you convince a security guard that you were hired as a "detail officer" for the day? Being from Massachusetts myself, are not "detail officers" usually sworn peace officers with the specific detail assignment given from the police station in the city/town location of the site you are at? Your cover would be blown with one or two quick phone calls, not to mention risking your security job. Security guards should be able to tell when a story/lie is being fed to them. Maybe the word "detail" is throwing me off as I associate it only with police? Do security personnel do details also in Mass? Maybe make up a fictitious uniform with a generic name (i.e. "Alpha Security" or "All-Day Protection Inc.) That way you are not linking your actual job with your exploring activities. All you would need to create is a different shirt with fake patches, and get one of those blue baseball like hats with the matching fake patch the same as on the shirt. Don't see why it would not work if one is smooth enough with the delivery. Just a thought.

| | | No, security officers actually do details in massachuestts, just not on main roadways when construction is being done, but privately its fine. Doesn't matter anyway, I was laid off today.

My advice? Keep the uniform and try it... You ain't gonna get a disciplinary if you've already been fired, hey!? Chris...
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |
