I think it's in the basin. The next time you go towards Burnside glance out the window when you pass any of these little coves. I think it is direct line of sight from that big sign that says "Burnside Industrial Park" (assuming you come in from the Sackville side). It's a big orange tug boat type thing that refugees from Sri Lanka came in on a few years back.

I'm not surprised you don't know where it is, I've only just noticed it myself, but my father is in the navy and says it's been there for a few years.

See, I usually come from the other direction, cause I live on the Eastern Shore. But if I'm in the area this weekend, I might take a look, if it's where I think it is, then it's probably at the National Gypsum Wharf.
Here's a link, the boat is under the crosshairs:

Very much so. They're still open and used, but since that mall is pretty much dead rarely does anything past the top level get used. The bottom levels are fenced off from the outside. The old elevators that go down from The Bay are still in operation; they're old as the hills and slow as anything.
I remember back when it used to be a Sears in that mall, the elevators down to the bargain basement were pretty kick ass as well. Too bad that's all gone now. Well, the Sears Clearance Centre as they call it now is there, but heavily modified and no longer linked to the rest of the mall...

As for the parkade, I think I might have to get over there soon, probably after the New Year. I remember when it was Sears, my grandmother would take me there when I was younger.

Yeah you found the boat I'm talking about Nootz; but is the gypsum wharf on federal land? They would really grill someone's ass if it was federal as apposed to private land.

That's why it's considered infiltrating. I suggest go at night. As far as I know, they don't operate during the night time during the winter months, and I imagine that would be the best time to go. Just gotta watch for cameras and such things is all.

...Why would you EVER use an MP5SD?? If it were me, I'd be using an M4. Lol, but seriously, wear something like urban camo (black, grey, white).

Wear civilian cloths and buy some cheap white coveralls that you can paint with black and grey. That way you can take them off when you get out of the area and you can ditch them if you need to without worrying about cost.

That's never a problem if you aren't caught. If you wear the camo it will be harder to spot you if you're careful, and if they do you can ditch the cheap coveralls.

The problem with that place is the wharf; it seems to be the only way out the the boat unless you want to swim or bring a raft.

Is the wharf well lit at night? Are there workers/guards stationed at night, where are they usually?

I have no idea, I don't ever recall seeing it lit at night. But like I said before, I don't know if the place is active during the night, let alone snowy days.

The best thing to do is recon it; if you watch the area at night for a few days (preferably a week, but that is not really possible) you should have a good idea of what happens at night.

I always wanted to go on that ship. I used to sail right by it almost every day in the summer. I would say it would be best to go down during the day and ask if you can look around. You might as well try and it be better then risking it and breaking in. From what I remember the guys looked nice and I think they would let you in.

That would be a good idea, sometimes we all get so caught up in figuring out ways to sneak in that we forget they might show us around themselves.

I wouldn't think the night idea would work anyways. Most boat owners put locks on their boat. My guess before someone goes home every night they stick a lock on all the doors but no harm in trying. I don't think they will have much work going on in the winter so it should be easy to sneak into unless any of the people in the houses or the yacht club see you. Last time I remember there was a boat on the dock before the boat and it was loaded with workmen but it shouldnt be a problem in the winter/night.

Another thing you could do is find the owner of the boat and say you are a photographer and you would love to do a shoot on the boat. It might help if you add in a lot of big film terms and try to make it sound like you know what you are doing(I have no idea if you even own a camera, I am very new myself). Most sail boat owners love showing off there boats my guess is the owner of this boat wouldn't mind someone shooting the boat and he probably had someone take shots before.

I don't know if a rusted old hulk would have locks on it unless they use it for something (storage), but I dought that. And there isn't a house or yacht club for some ways around it.

You might want to read the posts before making comments; we're talking about an old open-water (very large) tug boat that transported illegal immigrants that is now moored at a wharf by a National Gypsum loading dock.

Dude.... I know where it is... If you read my posts you would have known that I sailed out of the club by it for years and I sailed by the boat a lot during the summer. In daylight you can clearly see if someone is walking down the road to the boat from the yacht club or any of the house the are right by the road.

and like 65% of boat owner lock their boats... I own one and my dad owns 3. Its like saying all of the boats at the yacht club don't have locks on them because they don't have "something (storage)" on them. It probably has work gear and other stuff for the boat on there so they would lock it to keep people from going in and scraping stuff off the boat anyways.

Alright, you have a point; but the way you finished the post it sounded like you were talking about a yacht.

Well, if anybody does decide to go in at night, you might want to make sure the dock isn't lit. That could be a major issue. As for a day trip, I wouldn't be able to make it unless it would be on a weekend or holiday.
For now, I say keep to recon.

I just checked the satellite images again; I can see the marina, but the closest houses do not seem to be in view of the boat (at least not close enough to see it properly). Can the boat be seen easily from the marina (especially at night)?

A few questions for you True Karma, when you leave the marina which way do you (and most other people take)between the two islands or the boat and the two islands? It could make a big difference.

Roughly how far is it from the shore to the island closest to the boat? What sort of cover is there on the island? What sort of cover is there closer to the island's shore?

And what is that little platform next to the island, is it always there?
