I use a 3m P100 all day @ work. I use it for concrete dust & can still smell cigarette smoke so I doubt it will protect against teargas or peperspray.

Even if it does you still have exposed skin, and sweat...

Pepper spay is a b*****. I got sprayed once and let me tell you it almost burn your skin form the inside. (...Ok the thing was to protect a whole industry and it was placed in a confined area..)

People apparently react differently to it. I'm gonna take a guess and say you don't eat lots of hot food. And by hot I mean peppers, not spices and whatnot.

I've seen people get hit with it and its just makes their eyes water. Nothing at all what normal peoples responses are.

tear gas is a gas....p100 filters are for particulate.

you'd need a p95(i believe) because they use charcoal to filter out noxious gas.

Well I was gonna chew you out for that bit o' stupidity but I notice the long absent Krenta(welcome back) has returned to smarten you up.

If anyone has ever encountered CS/OC/CN/Tear gas, that horrid shit as much as a smoke or spray as anything. I know the CS I inhaled, snorted, choked and gagged on, was originally a solid capsule that they ignited to release the chemicals in a smoke form.
for tear gas and CS/OC/CN sprays, I recommend a full coverage mask... extreme burning sensation on all exposed flesh is really not fun.

I was given a pepper spray key chain thing and gave my keys to a fellow. He put them in his pocket and rode away on his bike. He made it about a block before it went off on his privates. Poor thing was in terrible pain for days and he was in the shower within a minute of it going off.

It is off topic, I know, but it is just a warning for anyone who thinks about putting a can in their pocket.

Que pasa, baby?

Ah yes, pepper spray. one year in high school a friend brought in a small can of pepper spray to math class. We always sat against the outer wall a couple seats from the door, and halfway through class, she leans forward and goes "hey, reach under the desk and stick out a finger". Looking back, I shoulda known something was up, but as it was I was usually in a perma-stoned state. Anyway, I reach under, and she puts the canister against my finger and tries to just squirt a little onto my finger...it didn't work... all of a sudden you just hear the thing go "PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT" and my eyes start itching and burning and we both start coughing and our eyes swell and start watering. everyone in the desks next to us start freaking out and coughing and gagging, and everyone starts pushing for the door trying to get to fresh air. We wisely decided to take the day off from school. Fun times, pepper spray. Much funner than CS gas.

Thai hot peppers are some of the hottest ones in the world... they have a fruity taste sort of like Juicy Fruit gum, an instant before the heat hits you.
It's enough pain that you "see" colors, and even get audio hallucinations, wow.
Ha-ha, I've eaten them whole just for fun.

God help you if your cutting them (even touching the body of the fruit unbroken!) and touch sensitive skin even hours later after washing your hands... it don't stop.
Hell even your fingers burn, and don't touch the skin near your eyes. Heat makes it worse; it can linger for days. Hot shower? Noooooo!
Oddly mucous membranes are self cleansing, and recover rapidly from the effects; it only feels like your dying.
Once you realize it can't harm you, the pain is an illusion... pepper spray isn't enough to stop a really motivated MFer.
Benadryl is your friend... and the secret to eaten things that are too hot to handle.

Pepper spray to the crotch won't stop hardly no one, and they will prolly kill you, but they will suffer...

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
