I went with my camera =]

"Sunken City sits on six acres of slipping, eroding, and sinking land adjacent to Point Fermin Park. The “city,” at the southernmost point in Los Angeles County, was once a neighborhood of exclusive homes. Waves undercut the base of the sandstone and shale cliffs, which began slumping and sliding in 1929 and again in the early 1940s. It is now a jumble of rolling land with palm trees, isolated slabs of the old road, tilting sidewalks, streetcar tracks, and remnants of house foundations, and chimneys above the surf-swept rocky seashore. Several meandering paths weave through the bluffs. Exploring this surreal landscape is like entering the “twilight zone.” The Point Fermin Marine Life Refuge follows a half-mile stretch of the coastline below. A few trails drop down the dramatic cliffs to the rocky shoreline and tidal pools." (http://www.trails....trailid=HGS176-282)

The room in the first couple of pics is a fire control station for Ft MacArthur batteries up on the hill.

An armed society, is a polite society. So lets get to it!

And it was deliberately built into the ground like that -- it hasn't sunk... yet.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
