| | | Oh yeah? Other abandoned university < on 10/23/2007 5:20 AM >
| | | I recently moved to a new neighbourhood, and just randomly driving around I stumbled upon an entire abandoned university, not five minutes from my front gate. Here's my new neighbourhood, which is right in the middle of Seoul, just east of the downtown core. I expect to see many of the smaller apartments destroyed in the next few years.
I drove all the way around the university, unable to decide if it was abandoned. This was the front tollgate. There's a security booth just inside the white gate at the top, with the blindest security guard ever.
Oh yeah, that's abandoned. This building is filled with science labs.
Sadly blurred but this picture reminds me of The Prisoner.
Jewish paint primer.
I found some abandoned pictures.
Pictures inside a recording studio. It's off center because I needed to use my flash.
This is the first building I went in, which was a students' union type building with cafeteria and student clubs.
There's a vantage point next to the Indian embassy where you can see onto the campus. If I blow up the photo you can see workers in white hardhats entering the building.
Another vantage point. The security guard stationed there is very alert. I'd like a closer picture of the stairs which have a mural painted on them.
This weekend I returned there with langP and a few other people. We'll put up more pictures in this thread.

| | | I'm hoping langP gets his photos up soon. It looked like his Sunday was more fruitful than mine. Yeah, we moved into a really picturesque neighbourhood. I got that picture from the top floor of a nearby highrise apartment that wasn't guarded in any competent way.

Not often you hear Seoul described as a town. Don't worry, someday all those little houses will be abandoned and I'll get inside them.

| | | Wow. Some of these buildings (like the latter brick) look very new. Odd to see it suddenly close.

| | | I'd say most of the buildings there are fairly modern. But look where they'll be moving: http://www.dankook...lish/a/a02_03.html

| | | How can building upon parkland be environmentally friendly compared to leaving the entire parkland as parkland?

| | | To be honest, I was very disappointed when I looked at my pictures full sized. There was quite a bit of blur since I didn't have a tripod. (It's a good thing I didn't have a tripod, since there was a lot of running and hiding going on!) 1. Fan
2. Behind the Green Door
3. Abandoned MoBo
4. Inside Looking Out
5. Dance/Exercise Studio
6. Pipes and Gauges
7. Potty Shot
It's times like these I should have some in-camera shake reduction to help with low-light shots. . . *ponders spending a grand on a new camera*

| | | I'm asking for a prime lens for my birthday next month so I can take pictures in lower light settings. Just need to find a good one for my camera.

| | | Just a few more. This is in a science building.
Is methly alcohol safe to drink?
My ringtone made us flee after langP called. Requisite peeling paint. This is just before we heard noises from a nearby window and all hid. We found a scooter graveyard.<BR><img border=0 langP got kicked out trying to get to these totem poles. The victory meal afterwards.
