How's it hangin'?

Ok, time to come clean with Urbexau and put to rest rumours and speculation.

The site went down due to non payment of account. Urbexau had a number of members who provided financial support. This was one of the conditions of being an actual member, as opposed to just a forum user. One of the members made his contribution by donating hosting. It was made clear to the other members that this hosting was to be renewed the following year. This was not actually the case. In fact, the account had to be paid monthly. Non payment came as a surprise to everyone, including other members as well as normal forum users. The member whose contribution was to pay the account provided no notice of failure to pay. Apparently he lost his job and was not in a position to pay anymore. This is fair enough, but no one was informed until it was too late and when going to the site we all found the site to be down.

The group had few funds left over as most were spent on equipment for members. No one was prepared for the need to have to pay for hosting, so reserves did not cater for this. So taking over the hosting was not practical especially since it was well above requirements and costs could be reduced by moving to another service provider.

Another issue was the ease to register on the forum. Anyone, including fuckwits could register and access detailed information and expo data. We had to lock down many features of the forum after awhile as some dumbarses were hassling active explorers for info about locations.

The ceasure of Urbexau's hosting was a good opportunity for the members to come together and consolidate all our experiences, and basically start afresh. It was decided to start a new site, have a new identity, new URL and be more careful who we let in. Hence, this was the beginning of URB-X.
Website is www.urbx.org.au

This is the actual reason for the demise of Urbexau and its site. Basically, it has just changed to URB-X.

If anyone has told you something else, then you can be confident in knowing that they are full of shit.
