a tramatic (and funny) experience at an abandoned army base

thought i'd share this, not sure if your allowed to give like total location details, but theres a place called "Foymount" up past bancroft and its an abandoned army base with 3-4 huge abandoned apartment buildings.

anyway, we went up in a group of 10, long story short we're walking down this long narrow hallway and come to this "living room" and inside the living room sat about 100 pigeons all staring at me. so first i get attacked in the face by one (of course everyone was shits and giggles) then a few minutes later a friend caught a pigeon, and i moved to the middle of the group so it wouldn't get me, and the damn thing picked me out of the group, chased me down the hallway,

and heres where it gets traumatic....

the pigeon was like ramming my ass with its head, and flapping its wings on my butt cheeks (which was totally wrong) and anyway, all you can see on the video is me running down this dark hallway screaming my head off and yelling "get outta my ass!" of course everyone was on the ground laughing at my experience....

needless to say its funny to see the video, but now i have this huge phobia of pigeons (and rightly so!!!) thats my pigeon story.

but other then the pigeons (which are only in one of the buildings) this place is totally awesome! you just gotta watch out for the OPP who will pull over ANYONE who is even driving on the road up there. this place also has a wicked element of eeriness (considering its in the middle of nowhere) and the buildings have what i call "double hallways" in which the hallways are side by side but you can't access one hallway from the other!

i have no photos unfortunately but i have a video (which i can't upload so no point in mention here) but over all it was a good trip and i rate this place a good 8 outta 10 becuase of the sheer amount of EXPLORING you can do up there.

anyway, anyone else have a horrible pigeon experience? anyone been to this place?

Hmm, it was protecting it's nest/family?
It worked too, cause you ran screaming etc.

I've never heard of that location, but it certainly sounds like something I want to visit. I'll remember to bring a tennis racket for the attacking pigeons.

I've never been attacked by a bird before (except the geese at TPC), but...when i went CFB Foymount was draped in a very heavy, creepy fog. Made for some fun shots, but I had ice frozen on my pants by the time we left...

dude that pigeon picture totally rocks....now imagine that in a small room and you got yourself some sorta hell...

Foymount always has some degree of creepiness.... i.e caught some weird paranormal shit on my video camera there, also got really creeped out there in one of the buildings....but all the old cars sitting in one of the buildings is totally worth the trip...all though i was up there recently and they put a fucking alarm on the doors to the building with the cars...so you can no longer get in....

If the building with the cars is one I'm thinking of, it used to be the base headquarters building. The guy that was running the auto repair shop out of it was busted two or so years ago for his part in an auto theft ring. Its the one on the left. Taken from halfway up the hill.

There used to be the derelict garage beside the clothing store, with the BMW 320i in it, but it's since been rebuilt.

As for birds, the only ones I've ever seen in the apartment buildings were beyond hope... like, exploded on the floor.

However, that's some funny shit... you can't pay for that kind of entertainment!

In case anyone is wondering, CFB Foymount was part of the Pinetree line of Radar/communications bases, opened in the 50's. It later became CFS Foymount and eventually closed in the 70's. There is actually a "forum" type site out there that some of the old residents converse on, ....it's actually quite interesting to read some of their stories.
