Here's one for you guys to rip a new cornhole...

Shot in color, but looks damn black and white, actually. From a certain local oil refinery...

I think, if cropped to eliminate some of the great black mass in the bottom half, it would be ten times more the photo than it is now. Then the focus goes from the giant black mass to the railings and light pole.

Then again, there is something very majestic about the black void. It reminds me of the bow of a ship. I'd say chop off half the black mass and play with it, and see if you like it better.

Tell me how this picture applies to the rule of thirds. (I just learned about it from your link, so take the inquiry seriously please.)

Oh, well that's what I figured.

How's this then?

If thirds doesn't work for it, I still find it an interesting picture.

i really like it. the rule of thirds is great, but this is a great example of when to throw the rules out the window.

F this I"m going exploring!

There's nothing in the picture. The stuff in silhouette shows the seeds of something somewhat interesting, but theres a HUGE fucking area of black nothing which ruins the shot completely. It also seems a bit soft.

OK idea but it's not a keeper.

i dont know, i think that itd be a lot cleaner if the black area on the bottom was cropped out a little.

It looks great the way it is. The black space in the background makes it look very mysterious and adds to the photo.

Surrounded by empty mines and trains that just don't run.

Oh, my God. Holy shit. Fuck! I grew up with that lampshade. I love this kitchen. I fucking love this kitchen!
