I found this on Instructables... I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to. I've wanted a SureFire light for a while, but they're just a little too pricy for me right now. This looks like a great alternative!

The only thing it's missing is the tailcap switch... I'll have to think about that one.

You could always get a SureFire G2 (composite body, around $35)

I know a guy who did this. The one on the left is the modded one & the one on the right is a 2AA LED MiniMag.

I made one of these, it's useful for quick illumination, but gaurenteed to overheat and melt the plastic lens assembly if used for more then a minute or two at a time.

I have a Streamlight twin-task (both luxon and leds) and I turned on accidentally in my pocket. It burned my thigh and the dam thing took 20 minutes to cool down. No wonder it was on sale.
