|  | | | Yeah, it's not often you see the words "beautiful highway" together. Here's a picture of The City Of Kawartha Lakes Highway 3.
Here's where it's located, just south of Kawartha Lakes Highway 48 on picturesque Mitchell Lake, just east of Kirkfield. What make's it cool is that the Kawartha municipality built this highway as a land bridge across the lake and maintains it as Highway 3 only from the Highway 48 junction and Robinson Avenue (see map, the road between the red dots).
...and there are some interesting abandonments in and around the area as well.

I've been on this highway once, at night in fog. We were driving home already, and decided to check out what seemed to be a bridge on our map. So we went down that ramp, which leads to the lake passage, and i am driving and see that there is water on both sides. It was scary at first! We checked it out, then did a 3-point turn (which was the most difficult one i've done so far ;) ) and left home to Toronto.
Very beautiful scenery there.... and lots upon lots of bloody mosquitoes.
