As a point of interest, my (ignorant, paranoid) American friend refuses to go overseas *because* she thinks Hostel is based on "if not a true story, at least what really does happen to countless Americans overseas".

Ive stayed at hostels for the past 2 months and my organs are where I left em.
That movie is so tripe.
Doesnt bother me though, the less americans in hostels the better... Okay im kidding nothing wrong with Americans except the politics.
I wonder how hostels are like in Toronto. I stayed in one in Banff but thats it. I imagine with a $25 bed youd be sleeping with heroin addicts

| | | | When I first came to Toronto I had nowhere to live. I stayed and the Marigold Hostel and it was rough. Every morning when I blew my nose it was just black crap coming out. My pj's would be filthy when I got out of bed. Tough times.

The HI hostel in Glasgow Scotland is great. Just watch out for the drunk Canadians wandering in at 5am with pigeon shit stuck to their shoes from all night exploring of Ravenspark Asylum.
