The composition in the first one is great. Well they are both good, but the shadow of someone sitting does it for me. It rounds it out well.

In the second one I don't like the light pointed at the camera and the guy is sort of blurred. That said, I don't think I could ever take photos that good. The first one is truly surreal. Excellent use of painting by light.

My bestest friend in the whole wide world, Lesley, thinks that shot #1 would be much better if the shadow were present without the people.

I agree, somewhat.

Also, she forced me to say she's my friend. I don't even know her. Damn vagrants...
