There is a good sized abandoned industrial complex smack dab in the middle of Moncks Corner, right off of main street. A few warehouse sized buildings, abandoned roads and railroad tracks..... lots of interesting stuff. I did not have a chance to explore as much as I wanted, because I wasn't expecting to be there (had on sandals and shorts instead of jeans and docs....) Anyone else know of this place? Want to know about it? Gonna go back soon with my camera, so I'll post some soon.... Today was just one of those "Hey, let's see what's down this road..." days.... Not positive on the date when it closed. Looks like its been quite a few years. (Saw a few Guns N Roses tags...) It is part of a 60 acre plot that is owned by Money Man Pawn, and since it is in the dead center of town, the town of Moncks Corner hopes to one day turn it into a large shopping/ apartment/ condo center.... although according to the town's "Downtown Master Plan" they do not want to bring in "big box retailers" because it will detract from our small town appeal. I will still post pics when I get a chance. I guess I find it so interesting because it is a welcome change from just abandoned houses, which is all I have found around here.....
