| | | Pls tell us that building is not slated for demo... Is 1958 the address or the year the building was constructed? Too big a clue?, yah. (It's the year I was built lol)

|
Nope, as thats way more Art Modern (and some would say fugly) than this, and that was built in 1966. FWIW; the CN Twoer in Edmonton is one of the few towers designed to be built twice as tall as it is. But due to airways for the Edmonton City Centre Airport/Municipal/Blatchford Field (IATA: YXD | ICAO; CYXD), It was never accomplished, the other?; the Clinical Sciences Building on the U of A Campus. | | | Ah, just from the first photo I know this building. But what's the scoop, and why this thread? If you can get a photo from the other side of those doors, I'll be far more impressed. And get some photos of the lobby too, I've heard it's very cool.

| | | Hey, that's the federal building, right? My sister is visiting me from Edmonton right now, and for a year or two she worked for the provincial government. She had keys to the federal building and total free access to its interior. She said she was always finding stuff that professional Hollywood movie crews were leaving behind. Unfortunately she doesn't work there anymore, but start drinking at bars around the Legislature and you're sure to make the right connection.

| | | Quick update: I had dinner with my sister and asked her more about the building. -She thinks anyone could get in, because it is still maintained in some way (probably land rent) by tax money, so tax payers have the right to see inside. -From the the lobby there are two wings that each have a large three-floor atrium she describes as being like a stock exchange. The offices in the building all have wooden interiors.
