|  | | | Yeah, so myself and a friend were outside Valley Fair for lunch today, we were walking kind of outside area's we were supposed to. So to speak.
And we found this gate type of looking door.
Well we kind of opened it with some force, went inside, and it ended up being this extremely old tunnel. It reminded me a lot of old railroad tunnels you would see in old Indiana Jones movies. Like there were the old wooden posts keeping the cave type of thing from collapsing.
Anyways we actually went pretty far in there considering it was extremely dark, we just used our cell phones to make sure we weren't going to fall or anything.
After probably 250 meters we decided to turn around so we wouldn't get lost.
Because after about 50 meters into the tunnel it had started splitting into different channels, but we just took the main one.
Anyways, have any of you guys been down there before? I am sure I am sounding like a fool right now if you have all been down there. But it was extremely cool, you could hear the ground shaking because of the roller coasters above you and stuff.
I will stop now though, sorry, I don't have any pics, didn't have a camera.
But I plan on going back there soon with flashlights and proper gear.

Actually, I wonder if you got into part of that trolley line that runs around VF. Part of it is underground, but not near that much.
Did you estimate the length of the tunnel correctly? 250 meters is a long ways, with different branches??
I hope you're not kidding. I'd love to see this.

Actually, I'm sure there has to be utility tunnels of some sort because tele poles would be unsafe, for obvious reasons. But rail things? That's pretty cool.

I didn't manage to go back there, but I gave the specific location to, umm, I think it was Tcdrainer...I can't remember, But I think it was him. He might have gone and got pics.

| | | | I was at Valleyfair riding the rides last weekend. Too bad I didn't see this earlier, I would've been looking for likely spots. However, Valleyfair is on the flood plain and all the walkways I remember going down are flat which means any tunnel underneath them would either be very shallow or flooded. Also, you say you were outside Valleyfair. Any tunnel entrance that goes under the rides would be inside the fence. I`m sure any safety-conscious amusement park would ensure all their rides and related places were inside the perimeter fence so people don`t wander into them. Conclusion: No offense, but I don`t believe you.

| | | | I take that back, but just a little bit...there are small artificial hills that certain rides go over and around, and I just saw on the satellite image a service road that goes right through VF and is apparently unsecured. Said tunnel could be in the vicinity of said service road, and could go under the hills associated with one specific ride. Doubtful but possible.
