Um yeah.
Note that none of those folks actually live IN Philly.

I'm willing to bet a dollar to a donut that I'm closer to that plant than you.
and if where you live had any bearing on where you explored, this site and this hobby would be pretty sad.

added note: since type is one dimensional, I should point out....I'm not being a wise ass.

Maybe they can get entry level jobs manufacturing drugs!

They don't even make the drugs in PHL! It really is bad.

Posted by don_corleyone

then what would we have to do on the weekends, hmmm???

Same thing, only better drugs.

Mayor S would come up to speed on the whole new approach by making PHL the first city in the nation to require it's pot growers to be registered and have annual safety inspections.
A small $1500 quarterly fee would be required to help fund the additional 2000 L&I inspectors that would be needed.

Mayor S was quoted as proudly saying:
"Let's take corruption off the streets and put it back where it belongs , in local government serving the people!"

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Nope, nothing to see in Philly, nothing at all.

But white kids talking about the hood is always entertaining

Philly has tons of abandonments. The problem isnt finding them, the problem is the fact most are sealed up tight on the 1st floor at least and being a city its a little obvious to climb it. Also the fact those that arent sealed tight tend to be destroyed.

I know at least 10 damn good looking abandonments in philly, problem is getting in 'em

Ha ha ha. I never once felt threatened in North Philly and I am a white Canadian from the country. You guys crack me up!

I totally agree. I spent days walking around Allegheny ave, Kensington street and Ontario Street. Yes there are a lot of black people, but most of them are very friendly.
I am a french white canadian and didn't feel menaced once.

As for Philly, well it's probably one of the greatest place in North America for UE these days.
If you're into factories, mills, old brick buildings, everything from the early 20th century, Philly is THE place to be.
Detroit is too demolished, Montreal is too gentrified and Buffalo is too small. PHILLY ALL THE WAY BABY!!

PHL? I pack when I go there, and avoid places like Germantown after dark.

A not so small friend of mine had to kick in a muggers balls in broad daylight walking down W.Sledgley Ave; he left his .45 in the truck, and a man step out in front of him from row home walk through.
Gimme your money... he didn't say please.

A real garden spot.

simply put.......you got lucky!
I know that neighborhood well. my Mother grew up there and later in life I used to spend a good bit of time over there. that area is one of, if not thee worst in the city. consider yourself fortunate, euphoria is a wonderful thing.

and RedDragon was being humorous with his nothing to see post.

I completely agree with ya though that philly is a fantastic place for exploring.

Seems like this thread is a competition on who knows the most street names and neighborhoods. I'm tired of this crap, get out and find some fucking abandoned places instead of bitching about there arent any in "PHL."

Wow you love talking about the hood but obviously know nothing about it. I've visited friends in Germantown many times, even after dark.

I know bad when I see it... Morton St. late evening.
That's Germantown. It's a sad place.

Not saying it's the worst or hood, same-same as any other.

Chester (it's sterile now), parts of Atlantic city, Baltimore, Post Elizabeth, Jersey city all have their charm.

great place to buy "ready rocks" though.

Where you there for that incident? Or did it happen to you at a separate time? Could've been the same dealer.

And I have to say, after visiting that high school and the surrounding area and having like 6 different jackasses try to jump in the car, and another six different jackasses try to sell us "ready rocks", even the worst parts of Trenton seemed warm and welcoming.

I totally agree. I find it sad when people in places like Philly argue if there are interesting abandonments or not in their city....
Just get off your computer and walk a bit in the streets to discover the magnificience of your city!! Enjoy it while it lasts!!

Philly has tons of ridiculously good abandonments. People who are into asylums are shit outta luck since both Byberry and Haverford State are becoming memories. But i agree with everyone else, it's not a competition on who knows what the worst neighborhood in the city is. Just go exploring! (and carry a nice weighty flashlight or knife with you)

99% of the time the only reason a young white guy would be in that part of town is to buy dope. They just thought you were a good sale.
