The fine folks at MTO will be closing Hwy 401 completely between Thickson and Park roads Saturday night/Sunday morning between midnight and 8am. Closing of the freeway to all traffic is required so they can demo the old Stevenson Road overpass. They'll probably demo the old rail overpass too. The old Stevenson Road overpass has been decommissioned for around a year now and traffic has since been rerouted over the recently built new Stevenson Road overpass, located just west of the old one. The Park Road/401 interchange a short distance to the east of Stevenson Road will be closed in 2009 when the new Stevenson Road interchange is finally completed.
