I was totally in there when that happened! I watched the fire consume the bldg. from the clubhouse. Then the clubhouse filled up with smoke, and we ran. so sad, so very sad.

| | | Man, as if that didn't look bad enough on my crappy-ass, low-res computer at work... now that I got home and saw it in high-res on a screen that actually works... what a tragedy! Oh the humanity. Too bad you at least didn't get to see it before it went up, 90.

| | | Okay, I hesitate to ask this now, but I'm outside DC for a few days visiting my mom. Time is short, but I'd love to see this place. Anybody want to tell me how to get in? Teasing, teasing. Seriously, is it worth the drive from Leesburg? Can I get close enough to get some decent outdoor shots? Or would my time be better spent at Chipotle's? Mmm, Chipotle's.

| | | Everything you've heard about the security here is true. It isn't worth the hassle. Restoration work is far-underway anyway, on some bldgs, including the kirk. A couple exteriors may be possible, but expect to get hassled in some way. Look into somewhere else. There is more in the area, that is a lot safer.
