In common with the western ghost towns, it really is a city which outlived it's usefulness, but in this case there seems to be a sense that simply because it is a city, it should and could be revived.
My feeling is that they should make the effort to start returning the land to nature if we humans have no use for it (except us urbexers of course!)

i guess, technically, certain parts are "ghost town-ish" but, not really.
in case no one's ever ventured out that way - check it out...my husband has been auditing a steel mill out there and we drive around there and explore once in a while.

I really enjoyed visiting Gary's abandonedments, but it's by no means a "ghost town".

The cops that came into the old post office for us, the last time we were there, made it seem like I was effing retarded for going into an abandonment.
