First off, these were taken with a Fujifilm A303 digital camera at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. I know some are slightly blurry cuz i didnt have my tripod with me. other than that let me have it. I'd really like to know what you think.

Can't see the first for some reason
The second is nice, but the compostion could be better if it was centered, but I like this nice work
If the third wasn't so blurry it would be nice, I like the creepyness of it but it's to blurry, try bringing a tri-pod
The fourth is nice, but the subject isn't that apealing to me

The gallery and pic tags were borking it.
Fixed!

it is hard to judge due to the lack of focus, but they seem kinda boring to me personally, the composition is off. it seems like it may be an interesting place. u should definitely go back with a tripod

let me have it.

In that case... #4 is more of a random snapshot then a composition, but at least it isn't overexposed like all the others are. Cutting the exposure time would not only prevent the light areas from being so washed out, it might help with the blurriness too.

#1 is crooked. Your otherwise very straight and centered composition style could work for #1, but its totally boring in #2 and #3. Not sure what that black blur on the edge of #2 is from but it looks sloppy. I guess #3 could be kind of cool if you cropped out that distracting thing on the very bottom, and tried to correct for the overexposure.

Keep at it ;) I look forward to checking this place out someday.

This place may be boring and overdone, but there's some great spots within the penitentiary. If you live close by, I suggest you go back and focus on its details (objects, textures, etc...) As far as technique, try framing each photo more carefully. The second photo would be better if you zoomed in closer to the chair with the light fixture overhead. Or you could crop out the shelf to the right of the chair. It's distracting the viewer from the main focus, the barber chair. In the third, I would edit it to give it some more contrast and crop the yellow thing from the bottom. The first and fourth both have good perspective though. I went there last week and forgot my tripod as well. So many good shots were ruined by blur. It sucked haha

1. Straighten the image, it's crooked.

2. Focus is way off, also try and get the chair to fill the frame.

3. The door and wall around it is the main focus, make sure it stays that way, there's stuff in the bottom of the frame that's distracting. Also center the door in the frame or put it off to one side.

4. Looks like a random snap shot.

i didnt have my tripod with me.

was this because you didn't want to pay $12 to bring it in with you? what a crock! when i went there, my friend and I split the cost of the tripod pass. which was a little better. you really do need one there.
