| | | An active junkyard operating near New Marshfield, Ohio. Not abandoned or anything, but I know there's a lot of car guys and a lot of junkyard lovers on the site, so I figured you'd enjoy seeing the pics. Acres and acres of cars, mostly 90's, but there are some more interesting ones near the back, and I hear some really good stuff down in the woods. ('30's - '50's stuff, too far gone to save.) Here are the pics I got from the trip. Just happened to bring the digicam along, I was there to get a battery tray for my S-10 (pictured in my avatar.)
Early-mid '50's Chevy or GMC towtruck, with the towing boom and most accessories still in place. My guess is a '53 GMC.
1958 Buick Roadmaster. A very love it or hate it kind of car...I love it.
Not positive. 1960 Cadillac?
1962 Chevy Bel-Air. Beautiful car, love the color combo.
196(7?) Chevy Camaro. Gone.
196(7?) Pontiac Firebird. This one's just a shame, I've always loved that bodystyle. Also, props to whoever can identify the car pictured in the top-left of the photo - I don't remember seeing it in person and this pic's all I've got. I'm saying Mopar, by the looks of the rear quarter and the roof angle, maybe a '68 Plymouth Satellite/Roadrunner?
Yet another completely trashed '67 Firebird.
80's Ford Ecoline ambulance. I called them to check first, and I'm going back soon and buying that light bar - I've got a friend who's sure he can rewire it with a household plug and a toggle switch.
Old AMC Gremlin. You can't tell in the picture, but this thing had a primer gray foot tall drag-style hood scoop.
Chevy Chevelle. This one breaks my heart, it's just so far gone. You can tell they tried to pick it up by the roof with one of the yard forklifts and tore it off.
Not positive on this one. Early 60's Chrysler Newport?
No cop-goodies left. Except of course the Crown Vic Police Interceptor issue V8, but noting the lack of serious body damage, I assume that's why it's here in the first place.
Ford Galaxie 500, in surprisingly good condition.
Ford Torino convertible.
Only deserving of a picture because it's a powder pink Lincoln Continental. I like the black one next door, myself.
Cool little right-hand drive mail Jeep.
I was surprised when I saw a VW Van.
Then I saw another one.
Then I saw another one.
Then I saw another one. On a previous trip without a camera, I had seen a really good condition '61 Lincoln Continental, right around where the black '60 Cadillac is. Couldn't find it...Hope it didn't go to the crusher.
Won't you help me, Mr. Jesus, Won't you tell me, if you can When you see this world we live in, Do you still believe in man? |
