| | Duncan Mills and Don Mills, Toronto < on 5/30/2007 5:47 AM >
| | | Here's a set of buildings on Duncan Mills just west off Don Mills a few blocks north of York Mills. Has there been any activity on this location in the Toronto database (for full members)? No access issues, just out in the open, still an interesting place, an old stone building half-destroyed standing in a field. Maybe 30 feet away, to the east, another building (bottom picture) - didn't look like it had a floor, just sewage and graffiti. http://farm1.stati...53360f20d4.jpg?v=0 http://farm1.stati...dd24555860.jpg?v=0 http://farm1.stati...de4db87b15.jpg?v=0 http://farm1.stati...04877c5fdd.jpg?v=0 http://farm1.stati...85486e729e.jpg?v=0 [last edit 5/30/2007 5:48 AM by brakeman - edited 1 times]

| | | It's on the river, so it could have been part of an old mill. There were a lot of those back in the day, and this could have been one of them.

| | | Heya, I live about a 5 minute walk from there - indeed, it is part of the remains of the York Mills - just east of it (on the other side of the newer dirt trail) is another facade from the same era; the 'graydon hall mansion' located east of all of this was abandoned when i was a kid (BEAUTIFUL spot), and was my first 'ue', i suppose...heh...the mansion was the house of the owner of the mills.

| | | Those are great little bits of another time in modern Toronto. My insurance company is on Duncan Mills and I'd see the first place mentioned when paying bills but was always in a "insurance company are dicks" mode, not a UE mode... It'd be nice to get them fully documented in the DB before they become a 401 off ramp or something.
