Abandoned Farm House in Farmington, MN

I was able to go out exploring for the first time since getting back from college last week. I had gone location hunting earlier in the day and found this farm complex while stopped at a red light. The house is next to a pretty busy section of road, and there are really no spots to hide a car during the day time there. So I did a night trip with a friend. We parked about a quarter mile away, crossed under the highway(or semi-highway) through a drain and got onto the farm complex. It was pretty cool. I usually find bigger locations to be more interesting, but this location had its perks to. And truth is, we skipped the best part of the location which was the house. So I will be going back, only a question of when.

Anyways, enjoy these pictures.

1. This was the drain we crossed through to get under the road. It was pretty fun except for the mud at the other end.

2. This is inside some sort of stable I believe. There were stalls all around, I think for cows.

3. This is the roof of a big metal shed we walked under. The shed kind of looked like a military bunker with the ends blown out.

4. The two silos on the farm complex.

5. One of the many broken down shacks at this place. This one is cool bc it's "spiraling you into the darkness."

6. A cool piece of farm equipment.

I took more pictures, but they were just more pics of broken down shacks. Like I said we skipped the most interesting spot which was the farmhouse, although we did find a toilet that said hi.

Alright, well me and another friend went back to this farmhouse a couple nights ago. We got inside the farmhouse I had skipped before pretty easily. Unfortunately it was mostly gutted, but there was a cool chair in the kitchen that made me wish I had a DSLR, *sigh* SOMEDAY

But it was a fun adventure, we went back through the same drain as before to avoid cars, only it was really muddy this time, it was a lot of fun.

Enjoy,

1. This was the really cool chair that we found in the kitchen. It was the only real piece of furniture left in the house, and like I said it made me wish I had a DSLR.

2. This was the "living room" of the house. It was the biggest room on the lower level.

3. This was a closet in one of the rooms upstairs. Kind of an odd picture.

4. This was the garage hanging out on the outside of the house.

5. We also found a giant pile of stuff I didn't remember seeing by the house. I believe it was a barn or big collapsed building. There was a lot of stuff on it, including this bike tire. I thought about climbing out onto the pile, but I could see into the pile and a person wouldn't want to fall in it. There were lots of sharp pointy objects.

6. This is a better but not great view of the giant pile.

So that wraps up this party. I'm not sure if this place is in the UE DB or not, but if/when I am a full member I will add it if it's not there. If anyone is near Farmington and wants to visit the site let me know and I will take you out there. It's not the most exciting site, but it's good for a few pics.
