Yeah no kidding....who was it, or a better question are they here on UER (probabily)...

Again, if the person in question is the person we both are thinking of, I only know of 2 people he usually explores with (and I think both are UER members, though both minimally as the person himself).

It's most likely the same person. The guy Lord was talking to probably just assumed he was in there stealing stuff and not exploring.

I have no idea how old the person I thought of is (he certainly doesn't look 32), and didn't know which site he was at when he got hurt, so I wasn't sure if they were the same person. Plus, I didn't know this person to be one who to steal things. I didn't want to assume it was the same person.

Ahh, I just heard about it recently and I only knew the street. All I know is it was easter, and the other two people your thinking of who he hangs out with were not there (as i spoke with one of them).

As for the theft part, who knows ...? Maybe that is what he got charged/blamed for which is reason enough not to explore alone -- so cops or property owners don't blame you for stuff you didn't do.

That said, I seriously doubt that there was anything to steal in there, but if he picked up a screwdriver or something...they can say anything they want.

I'm glad to hear it wasn't one of those two who deserted him. That was a huge dick move.

BTW: Lord what are these holes that your talking about ...? I guess they had machinery in them? Are they big? I have peeked inside about 3 months ago but didn't see much except for metal shelving stacked in a rubbish pile.

see pic # 17 the sign says "beware of pit" I'm guessing that its around there somewhere

Well I'm glad to hear that as well.

We must also go out and meet the enemy before he reaches our shores. We must defeat him before he attacks us, before our cities are laid to waste.

I knew about it for a while, there were documents posted from the Toronto website in 2002 about proposals, etc, to build a gigantic complex of Condo's. At first they thought the subway station by the Canadian Tire warehouse would be useless but quickly discovered the fact that condos would be arriving in a bunch of years. I've got a bunch of pictures from a couple of months ago. I have about 2500 pictures that I've taken this year but mostly rail lines, buildings, factories, etc, I think I'll have to start posting them up what do pple think?

Good as in not blurry, or poorly exposed to the point where you can't make anything out.

went back today and took some more pics.. I then thought of the awesome IDEA of talking to the guy in charge, telling him I am a freelance photographer, and if I could go up to the front of the building and take photos. He said sure <kewl guy> and gave me a Hard hat to wear. He also said later that if I wanted to come back later today he could get the security guard to give me a tour around inside. I decline as I need sleep some time today but thanked him.

ok first the pics I took of part of the building that is gone

<damn couldnt get them to display in gallery form well Its big pics this one time sorry peoples>

OK and heres the hard hat the guy gave me!

The guy that had this unforunate accident was 32y/o, and was transported (no suprise) to North York General just across the street. He had neck and leg injuries as a result of a 10-15 foot fall. He was placed under arrest upon arrival at NYG.

SERIOUS BUSINESS.

ha ha ha...
Call me irresponsible. For me its only the beginning again

Man okay time to talk since I’ve just seen this... I had no idea!
Yea its was an early Easter morning. Time to do the Canadian tire depot.
Everything was going okay got into the property at 6am. it was all quiet. really nice place too, i had several entry points to pick from. i chose one and made a horrible mistake. Shit happens I explore many sites alone and many sites with my crew some days im good others I just screw right up. Hey it was an over look that made me fall horribly almost two stories to my near death experience. Look I’m not saying I’m a great explorer nor that I’m good at this but shit will happen when you’re not looking. I had been eyeing it up for a few months by then and done a few days light scouting trips. As per being arrested that’s not the case. I feel in a really bad pit breaking my camera lense, it saved my fall. I wake up in a pool of water pinned by a steel pipe. Lost my glasses hat and light was out. After getting the energy to yank off the pipe and find my cell I dialed 911. and told them were I was. It was really embarrassing shit, especially for some one like myself that has been in many places alone. Firefighters got me out and got me out. I was basket out and as I was being transferred to a ambulance dolly the City TV crew was already there. Man I just kept my mouth shut. How embarrassing. Oh well life goes on.

I was brought to North York General. They really dint do much for me. The police had questioned me at this point. We had a few laughs about the whole situation as I waited for my ambulance to transport me to Sunnybrook trauma center. The nice police officer told me to get a new hobby. After all I received a trespassing ticket, that’s all. (And a stern talk about going were I’m not supposed to be)

I got to Sunnybrook and found out later that I had a broken hip lower lumbar 1-5 broken and broken elbow. Its been over two months and I’m walking again. With the aide of a cane lots of pain meds. Soon ill be back fully but a lot more cautious of things.

My bf at the time dint want me exploring anymore and so did some of my friends. Well I dumped his sorry ass and moved on. My real friends stayed by me and were supportive. I love exploring. I’ve always done this. But hey hind sights 20/20. I’m not going to quit this is what I love to do on weekends. Sadly not everything goes by plan. We live and learn by our mistakes.

I was at bridge point rehab for a week time went by really slowly. I wanted to just sleep and forget that this all happened. But my exploring buddies came to visit me frequently.

Going into abandoned places is what I love doing, hey fall recuperate and learn not to do the same mistake again.

To the Toronto police officer I was very grateful he was a real cop he actually cared and was very decent guy. I’ve been caught several times so far and just being honest is the best way not to get in anymore trouble. After al I’m just a simple photographer, some day ill get paid if not ill keep having fun at this.

All in all I’ve been back exploring buffalo and Hamilton in the last few weeks. Its going slowly and my search for the next huge site is ongoing. To all those guys and gals who were there for me I thank you.

The fatbastard is exploring. somewere...
