I'm on a nice walk in the city on Yonge, north of Lawrence and I see this place

It's all lonely begging me to explore it so I do =]

first a nice peek in the front window!

Then a walk around to the alley behind the place to get inside

wow is this place run down..

ok first the door

nope it's nailed shut.. maybe the fire escape

thats out of order and I'm in no mood to climb <today> but I can see that at the top of the fire escape that the door looks open!

I'll keep that in mind for next time.. might as well stick my camera in the hole in the door and take a few pics..

heres a nice video of the same.. It's smells like an abandoned warehouse! nice..

http://s121.photob...rrent=STP80109.flv

then I Notice that the store next door is ALSO abandoned..

no way in tho but i can stick my camera in the hole in the boards and take a photo!!!

hmm.. theres a roof next to the 2nd floor.. I wonder if I can in through there..

can't see anything but I bet theres a way.. ahh well I'm done.. gonna go back around to the front of the stores..

nice oh look a DOOR!!!

lolz.. sometimes the obvious is just so... Obvious!!!

this might look like the other photo just like it, but...

It's a little bit closer this time =]

wow.. someone else has found this place too.. nice..

the back door.. clearly not very accessible

well, I'm in.. ok first the creepy looking basement.. hmm no lights? no probs.. I gots flash..

This IS a BUTCHERS basement btw..

It's just so inviting down here...

ok now to the 2nd Floor.. VERY CAREFULLY.. I swear the floors SUK! very dangerous looking.. but, I WANT PHOTOS!! lol

the front window..

a fridge !

A Video ~!! *warning* This has terrible narrating.. *warning* !!~ lol

http://s121.photob...rrent=STP80126.flv

I Probably shouldn't hang out the front window like that.. but ahh well...

Hey look !! a door.. on the 2nd floor south wall?!?

hmm I wonder where this goes??

OUTSIDE!! (duh).. Hmm I guess you can get it from the roof after all!!

you can see the stairs going down to the first in this one, FROM THE OUTSIDE!!

I wonder whats there to see..

I am here!!

ok well now the 3rd floor.. nice skylight!!

There sure are a lot of fridges here.. I thought I'd put it into video format!!
http://s121.photob...rrent=STP80127.flv

I did find one of the occupants.. he looks adjusted here..with a location like this he SHOULD be comfortable!!

don't go out that door.. remember photos #3 and #10

hmm the backyard still looks like crap from up here.. someone ought to clean this place up!!

thats it for now..

I will defeat that which was once untouchable only so that I may now move on

WOW that is a ton of pictures, some are of the same thing too. Also I don't think that posting the entrance points are really allowed to be shown, even though they are oh so very obvious...

I used to drop in there for snacks as a teen as my friend lived on cranbrook. I always thought the glass work was cool on the window, everything else have been yuppified around there but that retained its old, crusty charm.

Nice tour and kudus on the ambition involved in posting the pics. Good work! My only critique, and I see this a lot lately, is that people really should be posting thumbnails in posts, not the gigantor images themselves. Clickable thumbs save the image hoster and UER users excess bandwidth and load times. Thanks again and keep on 'splorin'...

Not a bad little explore on such a vibrant street. I wouldn't expect anything abandoned along that part of Yonge.

Nice set, but it probably wasn't the best idea to not only show the entrances, but to pretty much give away the location of the site as well.

From the looks of it, no bad could come of it. It's just a store front with signs of obvious pre-existing hobo infestation.

I'm sure of all the locations on UER, nobody is gonna bother with some storefront and a couple of apartments on Yonge St.

I think the original idea behind not revealing entry details was so that people would have to find their own way in because that's part of what makes going to a place interesting and fun. I'm sure there were other reasons too, but I think that was the crux of it.

Somewhere along the line this changed. People started leaving out entry details because they though it would prevent taggers and thieves from being able to get inside. The fact is, taggers and thieves will kick down a door, break a window or cut a lock or do whatever it takes to get inside. Most of the time, they're the ones that made it possible for you to get inside in the first place.

Anyways.. nice little tour of an otherwise boring location. It's amazing how much a few words written here and there can help breathe a bit of life into things.

Well said, and to the OP. Good job at keeping this section alive with new photos.

Smaller shots would be better

thank you all.. as for posting the intersection <location> well It says Yonge st Cigar shop and the Address so I figured It wasn't that far a stretch just to google it.. lol

as for the Obvious.. ahh well the roof is also there and I didnt want to not include the photo.. I also Checked out condo's at Yonge and St. Clair that day and have photos.. A nice bridge set at 401 and Yonge and I almost got into the condos at Yonge and Dundas The HUGE complex thingy.. but I got stopped at the loading bay doors by a worker.. in all fairness it WAS hometime so someone coming in looked a little questionable and I had to leave =\ I'll be back tho..

Ill post teh photos some other time as It IS time for bed <for me> lol.. a good 8 hours should do me good

If You do Go to the Site however.. I think that the Cigar Store Does see the odd Occupant.. and The Floors in the butcher shop Are TERRIBLE.. Step Lightly.. use the crossbeams to your advantage..

Personnaly I Want to BUY this property and fix it up <I can Do this.. Im A PRO!!> some floor and wall reinforcment Will definatly be needed.. after.. maybe windows and drywall.. I'mm going to do the Cigar store.. I just need to climb that bitch of a rear stair case.. <pics #3 & #5 >

That building really reminds me of a place I went to go scout out not to long ago. It was around 12:00 noon. No one was on site which was a good thing at the time. Once I got inside and started to shoot shots like crazy with my camera. I was going to post it up here since it looked like a nice place to check out, but when I got back to the car I had got a new memory card with though I had put it in the camera to reformat and I didn’t and had lost every shot from that day

I took the trip back and see if there was away back and get back inside...when I had got back there the crew was back and told me to get off the site or that will call the cops. So I have learn my lesson! The lesson is to never go exploring again when you had just bought a new memory card!
