Biting the heads off chickens since 1442!
| | New here < on 5/1/2007 5:14 AM >
| | | I have here some pictures of an abandoned industrial building some of these are HDR's. I use a Nikon D50, with a 28-80mm lens,(for these pictures) and I edit in Photoshop. Questions, comments, whatever you like. This is my first post so if anyone has any suggestions feel free.
the Leipzig City Advertiser 1839 The wish to capture evanescent reflections is not only impossible...but the mere desire alone, the will to do so, is blasphemy. God created man in His own image, and no man- made machine may fix the image of God. Is it possible that God should have abandoned His eternal principles, and allowed a Frenchman.. to give to the world an invention of the Devil?" |

| | | Suggestions? Sure! Drop the post camera processing; fake frames, etc, and concentrate on the subject. Of which, it looks like you've got something interesting to photograph, so that's a start! Unless of course your into your PC more than photography, then process the hell out of them... Add a big `copyright` notice too perhaps? Regardless, have fun. Neko.

| | | I've loved photography for quite some time and was (and still am) a fan of film, I only use the photoshop sparingly and to only enhance the feel of the picture. To me half the fun and thrill of exploring is the feeling that I get being in the place that few know even still exists. The computer (and photoshop) are tools, like a flash or a tripod or a filter. These are the photos in their untouched form.

| | | To me, the unretouched ones retain the feel of the place. The others look like a movie set. Nice.

| | | thank you. I realize that a good amount of people overuse and abuse the computer to edit their picture. I prefer photos that look mostly untouched myself, however I also really am interested in experimental photography and the HDR (overused as it may be) fit the experimental itch I'm having right now.

| | | I've gotta say that I think the processed pictures look much better. You use of HDR is subtle enough that it adds detail to the picture without looking to fake. post processing anything with a crap picture will always turn out to be crap... but you dont have that problem because your originals IMO are a great base to work with
I am by no means a great photographer nor photoshop user, but I say well done good sir. [last edit 5/4/2007 1:02 AM by tweeek - edited 1 times]

i agree completely. i think the post processed set is much, much better and really adds a feel and tone to the pictures. granted, you need a decent subject and good compostion before you throw it in photoshop, photoshop is a great tool to really enhance your pictures. just dont rely on it to make crap pics look good, crap is still crap either way. i really like these.

| | | thanks when I use HDR I try to make it as subtle as possible. most of the time I just sharpen a bit to bring out details cause I love all the yummy lead paint, on the wall of course, then some contrast. thats usually how I leave it. you can't make up for bad composition with over processing.
