Update on the yellow house:

Basement has been full of water for 2 years now. Building still has "some furniture" inside.

Owner still lives down Toronto way, but occasionally comes up and stays on the grounds in some sort of trailer.

Information came from a longtime neighbor who occasionally speaks to the owner.

Hi all,

I dont mean to hijack your thread, but I'm from peterborough. I'm new to UER, but I've been a explorer since I was a kid. There are a couple of locations I've been eyeballing in the area. Anybody in the area want to do a mission, let me know.

I'm going to check out those locations soonish.

I miss Peterborough. I lived there for six years during and after university, and before I came to Korea. I would have loved to have gotten into that school on Aylmer if it'd had a chance to age a bit before they started building the Y there. What was that place called, again?

That was King Edward public school. I attended that school for nine years and was sorry to see it go

King Edward. . . Right. I kept wanting to say Prince of Wales, but I knew that was one of the other schools in town.

I bet GE would be an interesting trip if it ever closed its doors.

I have friends and family that work at GE and it would be sad to see them lose there jobs but if that place ever closed down it would be amazing to explore

Oh yeah, it'd be devastating to the local economy. I certainly wouldn't hope for it or anything like that. I guess that's the catch 22 with this hobby. I wonder how many thousands of lost jobs are represented by all the industrial locations in the db. . .

Another awesome place to explore would have been all the old buildings they had behind the Canoe museum, back when it was still Outboard Marine, I imagine it would have been something similar to GE, except a little smaller.

Or how about the place(s) they demolished to build that Staples/Home Depot complex?

The Commoner up at Trent would've been cool too. Even though I went to university there, I was never inside the Commoner. It closed during my second year, I think.

EDIT: Hell, I used to know a guy who did security at the old jail, too. . . It got completely trashed during an inmate uprising and has been abandoned ever since. He said it was REALLY creepy doing overnight security there.
