|  | | | Does anyone know what a building like this is for? I've never seen anything like it. There's doors on the back just like the ones on the front in the picture. The columns sticking out the back portion of the building has ventilation fans on either side at the top. There's not much inside, no machinery, just the framework of a shop crane that could be moved in and out the front and rear doors.

Whats the context? is it on a farm?
It appears home built and the ventilation/exhaust system seems a bit odd.
Im only guessing maybe a shop for working on large machinery.

Sorta reminds me of the a ticket office from an old drive in, I agree with 2x .... what was the surroundings and such

2Ex asked about the context... it is on a caliche road south of town. Businesses on the road include a metal scrap yard, a motor home park, a communications company, a big rig repair shop, a oil field drilling pipe yard and a machine shop. I started to think since it's across the street from the machine shop perhaps at one time the building was a paint booth...
No proof and no idea though...

It's not old enough to be made from wood, like grandpappy's. This dookey drop is likely mid 40's vintage when it was popular to make your family facilities of "modern" corrugated metal with topside ventilation. Also has the then popular "Wide Slide" front doors for those moonlit night visits. It's probably been modified in recent years into something less respectable.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
