So

Fucking

Pissed.

At least they caught the two losers who set the fire...
Yeah, it was arson.

Edit: Oh yeah, it was not a military hospital as I originally thought but it was the first hospital in San Marcos. Here's the link to my site:

I'm glad to hear that they caught them, but it is sad that nothing can undo what they've done. And, they'll probably get s slap on the wrist.

You know what I always like? Is how when arsonists destroy a historical building, they get almost no punishment, maybe a fine and community disservice. Yet when they burn something up for insurance money, well, by golly, lets lock 'em up and throw away the key!

Fires suck. Arsonists moreso.

Well, you've got to look at it as a way of protecting society from smart criminals.

Burning something down because you're stupid is... well, stupid. Chances are that if you do commit another crime, you'll do it in a stupid way and either fail or get caught.

Burning something down for the insurance means you've at least thought it out a bit. That means you've got at least a couple of brain cells to rub together. You might try something like that again, and succeed.

Since we don't have room to put everyone in prison (we've got to save room for kids who shove the hall monitor, after all), it only makes sense. Lock up the smart ones, and release the dumb ones back to dilute the criminal gene pool.

I knew it was bad because I could see clouds through the roof....

From the looks of the damage, the fire started on the top floor.
Roof was completely gone and all three floors collapsed one on top of another. At this point only walls stood encasing charred emptiness.
House was surrounded by a heavy duty wire fence with a security guard sitting in his truck with the motor running....
Entire site was a total loss. It was no longer a house, but a blackened ruin awaiting demolition...

San Marcos police arrested two people they believe were involved in causing a fire at a historic 101-year-old hospital on Monday night.

Nicholas Ryan, 25, of Kentucky, and a 15-year-old male face burglary and arson charges.Witnesses who saw a vehicle leave the scene of the fire as it started provided the breaks in the case, according to San Marcos Fire Marshal Ken Bell. Additional charges are expected to be filed against Ryan.
