I was just wondering if anyone knows of some good graffiti in Victoria? Ever since the trackside gallery got painted over, my friend has been having trouble finding anything but crappy tags to feature in her photography.

Yeah, yeah, this isn't UE related, but its pretty much the only place it fits...

Oh man that sucks! I got some good shots back on 2002 when I was last in Victoria. I thought it was some government sponsored thing? I can't believe they painted it over, oh wait, the O-limp-dicks are coming. Sorry, I doubt there's gonna be any more large displays any time soon.

The under the bridge over the train tracks on Willingdon avenue in Burnaby used to be a really good spot for graf, now it's an access road to the new Costco, and all painted out.

Nope. Last year. Some art has made its way back, though.

I can't even explain how angry that makes me.. that was by far the most impressive street art gallery I've ever seen!

What happened?

It's the vandals' fault for not properly securing the rights to paint with the property owner by paying him.

Pay for the right to invest your own time and money improve the visual appeal of an otherwise bland wall?

Was it really set up that way?

The cop's anti drug program 'Rock Solid" supported it but it was painted over by what I believe where disgruntled residents and business owners in the area. AKA they looked at the art and saw nothing but ugly scribbling.

That and you can only paint a wall for so long before theres no room left so in a way they helped wipe the slate clean.
