Potter's Field

Welcome……..
Everyone is here!
Yes everyone!
The bum who froze to death down the street.
The baby found in the dumpster behind the 7-11.
The old woman whose family never claimed her body.
The inmate who never went home.
The young hooker whose name only her family in Ohio knows.
The headless body that we think might be Vinny.
The homeless woman you wondered what happened too, once.

There all here buried just out side these halls and windows.
All 750,000+
All in neat trenches in piles five deep.

Standing there in the predawn light I had no desire to take my camera out and photograph the burial grounds.
The people resting here are the ones whose lives ended filled with despair, violence, and loneliness.
As their guest I felt no desire infringe upon the peace they have now.

Walking here before dawn one must take care not to trip into welcoming ditches created by my decaying hosts.

Oh it's a regular Disney World!

Just to highlight the main attractions,
A Prison
A Church
An Asylum
An Orphanage
An Isolation Hospital
A NIKE Base
Power House & Dyno House
Civil War Prison Camp
Reformatory
TB Hospital
Drug Rehab
&
Navy Brigg

And 750,000 dead people

Perfect family get-away spot!
Can’t wait for the condos and time-shares to start popping up.

St. Matthew (27:3-8):

"Then Judas, which had betrayed Him, saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests ... and they took counsel, and bought with them the potters field to bury strangers in."

Did you have permission?

If not, how did you get out there? I am under the impression that the only way out to the island is on a city-approved tour.
