I bought a Rubberized garrity for home use after a power outage. 8 bucks, how can you go wrong? Well the damn thing gave off almost NO light, even with neww batts. It sucked. On the other hand, the maglight 2d is bright enough for anything I need, except photos in darkness. Even my lost 2aa mag was brighter than the garrity.
Speaking of headlamps; If your application calls for it, Walmart sells a headlamp that links to a 2d beltpack- thats got to be some serious power! and only 12 beans.

I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying.

I'd recommend the Streamlight twin-task 2D flashlight, It has 3 modes of operation; 5 LEDs, 10 LEDs, and xenon bulb. It's built more solid than a maglite, and it's much brighter than a maglite... can't beat the garrity flashlights as far as prices go (I payed $35)

UER is a great idea and I love the LDB... but this forum sucks my ass. later

I was just looking at a friend's Streamlight Ultra Stinger. NICE! And it only weighs 1.1 lbs. Over $100 though, but he gets it free for his cop training.

Man - I can't even LOOK at a maglite anymore. Here's my arsenal:

Ever since I learned of them, I've been using lithium flashlights. Lithium Listed under lithium incand. on the flashlightreviews website.

One tiny little light with output equal to a 4D Mag. Then again, I usually drain so brightness matters. Observe the string on Big Garrity, its a cheaper than some store bought strap!

Search google for the candlepowerforums, which is an excellent lighting resource.

The Ptec Surge, The Pelican M6, The Legend LX, The Surefire G2 are all very affordable lights that give incredible output.
