Have you been to Cumberland Island? is that far from Savannah? Good stuff there--not much mind you and you probably need permission, but Plum Orchard was awesome.

You betcha

No. I've actually never been there. Is that the place that you have to take a ferry to, and there are wild horses?

Yeah, it's pretty cool for both explorer (not so much, though) and outdoorsy types.

Am I mistaken, or do the ferries only arrive early in the morning, and late in the afternoon?

cumberland is a couple hours south of savannah.

if you're going to savannah to explore, consider that there's more stuff outside the downtown area. and there's stuff on the way to savannah. i'd suggest taking alternate highways and seeing what secrets smaller towns hold, like hawkinsville for instance.

just drive around. you'll find stuff

I hate all of you

Great idea. Yeah, I've actually been meaning to take a trip to Hawkinsville, it's just quite a trip from Athens, so this will be the perfect chance. I had a sneaking suspicion that there wouldn't be too much in the actual city, but yeah. I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities around the area.
