I got this message in my myspace mail from an anonymous user who read this thread and messaged me, but didn't post it here, so i will:

A friend of grammer school days lived there in the early 60's. I spent a night with some other school chums from St Rita's. Jake showed us the whole house. It was in very good shape at the time. This is what I remember.... The Kitchen was in the north wing on the first floor. It had a massive old gas stove and a large table for prep work. It was kept cool when no cooking was being done. There were many bedrooms ...Jake had many siblings.. maybe six? Entering one of the rooms on the second floor Jake went to the right into a closet. There he pulled down on a typical looking clothes hanger hook. On the opposite side of the rich wooded paneled wall room an opening appeared. Inside there we stood in a trianglular room that was not furnished and the walls were a drab gray and there was one light bulb hanging from a electric cord. There one of Jakes brothers kept a chemical set and a lot of other stuff on a bench. It was very cool. One had to step up to his parents room on the secound floor in the south wing. This room was beautiful and was so furnished full and no sound echoed like in many others. The windows surrounded the large bed. Here we made some prank calls to many people we didn't know. Hey, we were young and foolish then. Then there was a room facing west on ground level that surrounded an old pool table. There were many old leaded clear windows here, ~ four foot tall, with a view out torards the bay (but could see it) out to the gardens. In the tall attic in the south wing there was a wooden latter that lead to a hatch opening to slate tiled roof. Once outside we had a great view of the surrounding area. We spent most of the night playing football in one of the fields in front of the house until the police from Eastway Plaza came down to investigate what was making all the noise. They scared the hell out of us and we went back to the house to sleep. It was a very cool place for us small time townees to travel into another world.
Cheers,
Tom
