| | | The distribution rights for the movie are not even in the works yet. What this means is no one is putting it onto DVD yet, so it will be some time to come.

| | | Posted by turbozutek Can't wait to see the thing - I hear the film might be shown at the UE mecca that is Sheffield, UK (Sheffield ? Wtf!?) so maybe I'll see it there one day. Chris...

Ah yes! Sheffield! The centre of all things exploratory in the UK. I'd go to see it if it was having a screening in Sheffield, make a weekend of it, go to Gatecrasher, go explore a little! Hoorah! JD

Could we get some daft wee birds drunk and abuse them? Chris...
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

| | | I saw it @ Cinequest film festival in SJ, Ca.. Most ppl were at a consensus with the idea that we never knew there was a term for it. Everyone I talked to seemed to have enjoyed n done things like the movie presented before but we just called it trespassing anyway there were some things in the movie that made me roll my eyes but others that made me with itch with anticipation. with that said here i am.

I'm pretty sure you will elaborate on that for us, right? Chris...

In short...who cares...this is the least of our problems.

I would give anything to hear that in a glasgow accent... the very root of our favorite four letter word in its native tongue. It doesn't get any better than that.
One of his great lines "I'm all about traffic efficiency." Another is "Pittsburg is one of my favorite cities because of its unique and intricate road system." What a total riot! The guy has got maps and maps and look, under the bed more maps! Again, not accurately quoted so Slim if you read this sorry man. You still rock on despite your oddness, which is what it's all about!
|
Now a guy who has oogles of maps is a badass in my book! Maps are the ambrosia of modernity. Thanks for the recap. Now I regret not making it, more than before

| | | let me see elaborate hmmmm..... The film presented in my opinion good n bad points: pros eccentric truly interesting personalities obsessive intense feelings of curiosity community friendships down to earth honesty energy invested in background research dirtiness gadget collecting creativeness (i.e. photography) worldwide
cons a couple really large egos semantix arguing over laws blanket statements stereotypical subculture shiat talking idiotic actions w/out thought to consequence dirtiness + fecal microbes = ewww!
Overall I really liked the movie - as for any subculture there are pros n cons.....if they had not presented the negative points it would have been devious propaganda bull shitting all over the audience. It wasn't presented badly, because u have to expect in most circles that there are a range of personalities & perspectives. Whether the documentary should have been made opening up the hobby to the general public is a completely different question. That will probably be answered by the repercussions if any that happen due to its viewing. so sorry for the long windedness I'm actively avoiding homework p00pee

| | | I'm excited to have the opportunity to check this out next weekend. Sure, anything like this can always shed unwanted light but as long as it's being shown, I've gotta go see it myself. Looks fun.
