| | Looking for information about PCB traces in St. Catherines < on 3/4/2007 8:27 PM >
| | | Hi there. I know this is a bit of a long shot, but while Googling for information, I stumbled across this site. Basically, my friend's dad is very sick with cancer. He used to work at a place called "Burnstein Castings" in St. Catherines, ON (corner of Catherine & Russell st.) in the 80's. This was formerly the site of "Samco Brass" in the 70's. Anyways, so far my research has yielded that something called a "clay cap" was put in place, the site was bulldozed, rezoned and turned into a park. There are references to hazardous materials in soil samples taken, but I need to know if anyone knows anything or anyone from that area - or any information about PCB contaminants. I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks. Chad. [last edit 3/4/2007 8:30 PM by Syne - edited 1 times]

I'm not sure if there's a brownfields or superfund repository for Canada, but have found similar info along your lines on US sites. Try googling CBN, Canadian Brownfields Network, maybe u can find something there. If the name of the company has changed, you might not have a case, because the former company, obviously doesn't have assets and is nonexistent. Good luck. | | | The Ontario Ministry of the Environment has a database of brownfields that includes extensive information on soil contaminates. It can be found here.
