Hi!

| | | You or your friend has a hoodie like my boy's pajamas. Do the "bones" glow in the dark? My 5-year old's jammies do. It's pretty funny when he walks toward us w/his bones glowing. Fun times. Highly recommend the glow-in-the-dark skeleton jammies. About your photos, I dug the lightbulb and the big machine thingy.
You betcha |

| | | The fusebox is the one with the switches next to the fuses? That's actually the only, no offense, pic I liked. I also liked the pic with the doorframe with charring around it, interesting to look at the burn pattern. [last edit 2/26/2007 1:46 AM by obxprnstar - edited 1 times]

| | | Maybe you rocket scientists should try taking pics during daylight hours. Flashing strobes are a dead give away. One open manhole is worth a thousand milliseconds of "I wish I was dead pain". Lord rick is big on orbs and bad photography in general. He explores best in the dark, but that's not saying much.

To each their own man, no need to throw stones. Not my particular favorite way to capture a place, but he IS contributing and that is worth some respect if nothing else.

I shoot at night. I didn't get to shoot the way I had wanted to, but it was a preliminary scope out. You can expect better pictures over the next few days because I am going back tonight with my 300d and a tripod I don't get caught even if my flash is seen . . . thanks for the compliment on my photography, blackhawk

Not throwing stones, maybe a few pebbles though. Why good into a site in the dark if you can do it more easily in the day? Cops/park rangers know if they see people going into sites such as this at night, that they are either vandals, taggers, trashing partyers or dumb-ass ghost hunting kids that are liable to get whacked. They need to be keep out. I wasn't kidding, because 99% of the time that's exactly what they are. Copper thieves tend to come during daylight hours. Hellholes are real, and people set "traps" at these sites too. I've seen it this at least a half dozen times. An open manhole can fuck your shit all up, sometimes there in the middle of a field of knee high grass. swell. Don't get too sneaky for your own good, and if they looks like vandals, they prolly are!

Why not go in before dawn, and shoot when there's light? Posting your plans here isn't the best idea either.

K-9's and FLIR; they will use those to pursue an arsonist. Never assume you know what will happen in a situation that your not in control of. The bad ones come at night(so my girlfriends have claimed). Yeah, Andrea, strobes outside are invisible, my bad. The cops are pissed because of arsons, attracting attention and going in groups gets their notice. LEOs can and do use the web. Almost everyone here knows that site by interior pics alone, call it Hymme's Place or something next time you UE a place. You don't want it to become a byberry, although it seems to be well on it's way [last edit 3/4/2007 12:35 AM by blackhawk - edited 1 times]

| | | I shot* at night. etc. i did go back early evening and entered through dusk but i lost light too early and so it was again shooting in the dark. I do love photography even if I am not up there in skill, and so I do love down and dusk shots. My in-camera flash was seen, i was not caught. I don't know why they would ever pursue me with dogs at "Hymme's place" though. I had a friend who was there unknowingly when the youth center up the street was broken into and he ran into the woods. Even then, there were no dogs; no nothing. I do agree that it is more dangerous and that dropping names and plans is a bad idea. I also think that the best time to use a strobe or flash is during daylight because it makes a pretty good fill light, but I dislike using them at night so that in future shoots I will bring a small spotlight to light the subjects. My flash is okay but not what I would like. Pictures hopefully coming later . . . [last edit 3/4/2007 5:58 AM by spidey - edited 2 times]

Trust me, your putting your ass where your head don't want to be. It was an $800 slice of humble pie. Photographers shoot in the day, but vandals play at night. That will be how most cops prolly see it. Sooner or later, you will get caught. Make it a "survivable" encounter. Never carry weapons, masks, or tools.
