It seems to me that while trying to bribe a cop is suicide (their sense of ethics, professionalism, the risk they would be taking to accept it, the tens of thousands you'd have to offer...), bribing a security guard in theory shouldn't be quite the same headache.
Apologise for being on the property, bow to their authority, offer to give them $50 "just you know, in case you discover I accidentally disturbed anything, or just to make up for wasting your time with my stupid hobby" or whatever.
So no "Made-up, it *could/almost* have happened, so I'll fudge the truth and claim I always bribe people because I'm an urban ninja". crap, have you *actually* ever bribed a security guard, or even just used money to calm down a property manager/owner?

Way to win the award for stupidest comment I've read today.
Most of the security guards I've met have been extremely nice people. They're just trying to earn a living, and rarely have the stereotypical god complex rent-a-cop attitude they're often given credit for. True, they may keep you out of a location, but that's more the fault of the owner than the guy they hired. These are guys who can keep you out of jail by not calling the police, so they do matter. Additionally, because they have very little emotional investment in the protection of the property, and are typically quite bored, a conversation with the guy and some coffee can lead to him turning a blind eye while you troop forward into the location. In once instance, it led to me and a friend getting a guided tour at night by this "person who doesn't matter".

As mentioned, because as much as he's not a "real cop", he's the guy that decides whether or not to call the real cops now that he's seen you.  You don't have to *like* people, or their careers, to see that they hold some balance of power that you need

That's nice. I was commenting on my own experience as I have tried to be nice to security guards without any reward. I think the orignal poster was asking for personal experiences with bribing someone and I gave mine, nothing wrong with that is there?
