I posted this on a few other sites but not here since I haven't posted much here. Thought you all might be interested:

She will be missed.

I took these last Friday, shortly after lunch time. I asked the people there what was going to be built there but the land still hasn't sold. They did save the statue that was at the top of this tower.

It's sad to see another site in Maryland go, but at least I was there to capture pictures of it as it went down.

That sucks! Always sad to see places go...

DAMN IT. That place was so cool and I only got to go 1 time. The cemetary, old buildings, freaky statue, and alter made it extra spooky at night.

she'll be missed.

I still thought there was a lot of interesting stuff there even though most of the building had collapsed after the fire.

The church, cemetary, statue, etc are all still there and as far as I know there are no plans to demo them. The land hasn't sold yet but the owner demolished the main structure so new construction can start up ASAP once they do find a buyer and sell.

Damn, I thought that was torn down years ago! I went to Summer Camp there for two years when I was a little kid. That was like 1978/79 I think. It was run by the Christian Brothers (I'm sure you've heard of the wine). The place sure was spooky to explore even then. The Brothers used to live upstairs in the main building, but when they got older they built a retirement home down the street and sold much of the land. For a while there was scaffolding up like they were going to restore it, but then it burned. Pretty ironic the BATF Fire Research Lab is right next door...

Wish I'd gotten to take another look, but thanks for the excellent pics...
