| | Houston Subway????!!!! < on 1/27/2007 11:44 PM >
| | | I have a question, for those who have been in houston for at least 25 years, do any one besides me remember back in the mid 1980s construction on a subway began and than work just stopped? Than one day, I was watching the news (in the mid 90s) and they had a story on the city of Houston and the money that has been waisted over the years, the subway was spoken of and they even had a camara crew inside some of the more completed arias.

| | | I read someone that the tunnels that exist downtown were supposed to be part of it. It never materialized. The city of Houston wastes alot of money on dumb stuff and ordinances it's doesn't surprise me.

| | | I lived there in the early - mid 80's. I probably heard about it then but I don't remember it. Would be nice to find them though.

| | | There are some nice pedestrian tunnels down under the houston area and they are pretty interesting with a food court and all. Maybe you could start there or maybe those were the tunnels. They link 4 or 5 buildings together if I can recall. here is a link to the maps http://www.houston...eBelowDowntownMap/ [last edit 2/9/2007 8:16 PM by brystew_512 - edited 1 times]
