Grain can be cool, not saying it's cool in these photos... but it has a place. They're portraits; not the standard asylum hallway, but those get boring anyway!

So I am not the only elitiest...? Happy to meet you glass. I really like 3 and 6. I'm not digging the grain, but it looks as if these are snap shots of friends and have that quality to them (for the moment).

I've never thought about posting my best. I keep them offline...although I'm always amazed at what people like on different sites. Floored actually. As soon as you place a person in a shot, I get 3x as many comments on flickr.

haha lol jk. There was not one that I didn't enjoyed. I particularly liked the first because of the city lights in the background and the last because the outline of the face is so well defined against the black. Very nice

Slightly out of focus? They look sharp as a tack to me...when im in the middle of a tongue swallowing seizure.
All joking aside, the last one is a wonderful portrait, its on a different level than the others.

now a question... what really causes the graininess? is it only from the long shutter speed needed to capture the subject with low light?
